Ohio Winter Proposal
When my sister’s boyfriend asked me if I would photograph him proposing, I said “yes” before he’d even finished his sentence. I was already SO excited that he was going to propose, and this was just the icing on top of the cake!!
Tim and I planned it out meticulously (we even practiced the ring pass off the day before while Emma was at work). Since I’ve been photographing everything that moves, it was relatively easy to slip the idea into my sister’s head that I would do a couples session with the two of them and their puppy. We enlisted her best friend Lizzie because I’ve been trying to get more “behind the scenes” footage that I can use for my Instagram reels (which is true, but we really wanted Liz there to film the proposal! Eeek!). Tim really went the extra mile to sell it to Emma by continuously “forgetting” that we were taking photos. Emma would say “Ok, what time do we need to leave on Sunday?” and Tim would say , “what’s Sunday again?” Teehee.
Long story short is that she was SO surprised (you can see it in the photos!). We got a great video that I posted on my Instagram if you want to see the proposal in action! The photos below are chronological so you can see how the session went down - first a cute couple/pup session, then the proposal (one of my absolute favorite photos - just because it’s cute - is the one of them hugging and Emma looking at the ring over Tim’s shoulder), then they put all of their winter gear on (it was freezing - like almost too cold to be enjoyable) and did an engagement shoot! AND we got to play around with some fun light things - I brought twinkle lights, which I had been dying to try, and we attempted a sparkler heart.
